THE DUMB THINGS WE DO 

Without Even Thinking .... 

Each of us has moments when we do the dumbest things and don't even realize just how vulnerable we are.  Check out the following situations and see if you ever do any of these things.

A lady was sitting in a coffee shop and got up and left for a while.  She left her laptop and all of her things and just walked away.  At the rate of laptop theft, this was risky in itself.  And of course, we don't know what personal information she has saved on her laptop

In this situation, the lady not only left her laptop sitting unattended, but she actually left the store, went down the street to a fast food restaurant and returned with her lunch.    If you look just over the top of her laptop you'll see the red of her pony tail elastic.  She was completely unaware of us even taking the picture of her.  Now look where she put her wallet when she came back from the store.  She would have never noticed it missing ... until much later.

This is a picture of the inside of a recycling bin.  Someone had dumped all of their personal papers, without shredding, for anyone to take, read, and use.   This makes the recycler very visible!

It's so easy to put our outgoing mail in the mailbox and lift the red flag to advise we have a pick up.  It was a great system, but no longer safe.  It's not just postal services that we're notifying that we have outgoing mail!  Anyone who cares to come by and pick up your bill payments, IRS mail and everything else that has personal identitiers on it.  Mail your outgoing business at the post office and be safe.

Karen has made it possible for anyone to pretend they know her and strike up a conversation like a friend who acts like you should remember them but you're too embarrassed to admit you don't.
